Quality

Idaho Milk Products has a fully staffed Quality Control Department with full chemical and microbiological laboratories on site.

Quality Assurance begins on the production floor where the critical operating parameters, including temperatures, valve settings, motor and pump speeds, pressure and back-pressure etc. are constantly monitored and recorded. Further analytical tests on the products in process are performed by operations employees using infra-red and near infra-red analytical equipment in each of the control rooms in the plant.

Samples are taken at each step of the process for further testing in the Quality Control Laboratories. These samples are taken both for in-process and finished goods. All of the major parameters such as protein, fat and carbohydrate levels are measured using both state of the art analytical equipment as well as trusted wet chemistry procedures.

Microbiological analysis is performed on site with the exception of pathogen analysis which is sent to outside certified laboratories. All finished product is placed on hold and not available for shipping until Quality Control has released each lot separately and provided a Certificate of Analysis for each specific lot of product.
